MG MGB Technical - Fuse box cover, extra fuse kit

Just finished a basic re-wire of exterior lights and dash. I do not currently have a fuse box cover on my '68 mgb, so plan to add one. Any idea why there isn't one or why it would have been removed? I see one in the moss catalog.

Also feel I need a back-up package of fuses/ tools. Any suggestions on what to include in that "common electrical issues" kit?

It's been lost...there was a very simple cover that snapped over the fuse block.

If i'm having no issues, but it looks pretty corroded/rusty, would you replace the 2-fuse block? I've pulled so much out at this point, I am trying to figure out where I stop...

I picked up a 2-fuse block from Triple-C for a midget I'm restoring. It was $13. Couldn't tell from the image if it's the same fuse box you're looking for, so here's a pic.

Haven't put any juice to it yet, but sure looks nice and came with a cover.

The 4-fuse cover has holes for two spare fuses, don't know about the 2-fuse.

As for asking what tools to get or carry it depends on how many people respond! A multi-meter or at the very least a test-lamp, but apart from spare bulbs and fuses there isn't much that goes wrong with the electrics other than bad connections from time to time, unless you are going to include all the other electrical components that sit in the middle or at the end of circuits such as switches, motors, horns and so on. The hardest thing with electrics is basic electrical theory, knowing where to start looking, where and how to connect your meter or test-lamp, and how to interpret what it is telling you.

There are holes in the fuse box itself to fit two spare fuses, standing vertically, on the 2-fuse version.

OK, same as the 4-fuse then.

Thanks- this was really helpful. Pulled the fuse box, got a new one and inserted some spares. Took her out for the maiden voyage yesterday!
