MG MGB Technical - Fuse Box

1971 mgb roadster. What size are the fuses in the fuse box, starting from the top down? Thanks.
Curt

I have 30 Amp fuses in all 4 places, which I believe is correct.

Off the top of my head, the top tue are for tail and parking lights 7 1/2. the third eludes me and the bottom is for the horn and cigar lighter @ 25. 30 is too big for any of them.

But Moss sells 35 amp fuses for the 'B, P.N. 146-700. I thought I'd seen 35 amp somewhere. In fact the last time I blew 2 30 amp fuses in the tail-light circuit, I went out and bought some 35 amp fuses. So far, I haven't used the. It was one of those Lucas "self-healing" problems.

I believe the original fuses were 17 amp current rated an 35 amp blow rated. All fuses in the fuse bax are the same. The line fuses are also 35 amp blow/ 17 amp current rated with the exception being the radio fuse.
Reference, MGB tourer and GT drivers handbook 1971/1974. If you have a bentley manual the handbook is in Part II. FWIW, Clifton

I referenced the Driver's Handbook mentioned by Clifton Gordon. I agree it also states all fuses are 17 amp current, 35 amp blow. Unless someone has a different version, that is what I will use. My question came from finding a 7.5 amp fuse in the box that had blown. The rest are 35s. Thanks.

Odds are a PO put in whatever they could find as you will never find a 35A fuse at your local SuperDuperPartWorld.

On my '73, all of the original fuses had a piece of paper inside of each that said "Lucas 35A".

Have always used 35 Amp fuses because, if you use smaller ones, you must carry a box of fuses with you to handle the occasional blow that will happen with smaller fuses.

One source for the correct fuses is The B Hive. Clifton
