MG MGB Technical - Fuel pump on 3 bearing cars

I've been doing some work on the fuel pump on my '64 car today, a messy and smelly job...

The pump was leaking fuel, but all it needed was the six screws that hold it together tightening up, somehow they loosened off in the 23 years since I last looked at it!

Does anybody know whether the original fuel pump on early cars was the same type as later MGBs? Mine has a sticker on saying it is a BMC replacement, so it isn't the original and I was wondering whether early MGBs had MGA fuel pumps. I seem to think they did, but I have no idea where I heard this or if it is true.

Thanks,
John.

John - The original fuel pumps on the early MGBs was the same as on the MGAs, a AUB 150 pump. The new part number for the pumps is AZX 1331 for negative ground or AZX 1332 for positive ground. The late MGBs used the AUF 300 series pumps, the new part number being AZX 1307 for negative ground or AZX 1318 for positive ground. These later pumps, both the AUF 300 series or the AZX 1300 series can be used also on the early MGB in place of the original pump. Dave

Thanks Dave, I have an MGA spare from when I had an MGA (now sold, alas!), it's a block of rust so I will spend some time putting it in working condition when I get the other five jobs done on the MGB.
