MG MGB Technical - Clutch and shifting problem

I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing. Had a problem reassembling engine and trans. Put everything back, could not disengage clutch.
Bought and installed master cylinder, slave cylinder and flex hose. After bleeding still could not disengage the clutch. Now I have problem even shifting into 3 & 4th gear with engine off and reverse.
Engine starts fine and even runs in gear on stands. I cand get clutch to work and now I cant even shift.
What should I look for that could solve this problem.
Everything was working before, I installed a new clutch(except the clutch was slipping) HELP

You don't say what kind of problem you had reassembling it, but it sounds to me like you may have installed something incorrectly. Sometimes you can get a peek inside by crawling underneath and pulling back the rubber boot aound the input arm. You probably have no recourse but to pull the engine again and recheck everything.

If you have 1/2" to 5/8" of travel of the slave piston the problem is inside the bell-housing, I have heard tales of incorrect assembly causing this. If you don't have that travel the problem is hydraulic, drain the system and refill it using an EeziBleed on very low pressure connected to the slave bleed nipple. That way you should not need to separately bleed it and will have the correct travel from the word go. If not, your MC is faulty.

This could be due to the pressure plate being
installed the wrong way around. Was the side
marked "Flywheel Side" oriented correctly?

If you are getting the correct pushrod travel
as noted by Paul, then unfortunately the problem
must be internal to the bellhousing.
