| Scot. I don't think Edelbrock/Carter makes any two barrel carbs and I don't think Old Ford Pinto's and some other small engine cars had a Holley 2 barrel that was made under Weber license and was much like the current MG Weber conversion carbs. The big problem would be getting a manifold to adapt current Edlebrock and Holley carbs to the MG. The smallest offering I found was a 350 cfm Holley 2 bbl. I believe it would be too big for an unmodified engine. I would love to see a 2 barrel about 250-275 cfm Carter for the MG. I have a Carter AFB 625 cfm 4 bbl on my Jensen Interceptor with Chrysler 440 engine. Put it on about 4 years ago, set it and haven't needed to do any adjusting since setting it up. It idles at around 650 rpms. How many SU's have you seen that haven't needed any adjusting in four years? If you do need to make fuel metering changes it is done by changing metering rods costing around $10/pair. they use two steps for metering cruise/power not like the 16 metering points on the spring loaded SU needles. Changing them takes less than 5 minutes and no adjustment is required. Clifton |
