MG MGB Technical - brake master cyl

doing a rebuild on brake master cylinder on a
79 mgb. the brake failure switch has been
broken off. ( really i didn't break it)
the electrical part has been uncoupled. can't see if the imbedded stub is threaded or not or whether it is removable, is it ?
if so how ? if not, must/should the cylinder be cast into the river ?

any other help on the rebuild or things to be aware
of would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

John. These parts are plastic, threaded into the bottom of the brake MC. There is a rod on top of them which moves to one side if there is an unbalance (imbalance?) within the the two MC circuits. Often, this side is not disassembled during rebuilds and brake fluid leaks out through the switch. With the MC out, you should be able to turn it over and examine the hole, then use a screwdriver or a punch to turn the broken portion out. The hole is a standard Unified National thread and, if necessary, any small remains can be tapped out. I do not have the exact size to hand right now, but should be able to find it if you need it.
