MG MGB Technical - Brake fluid again
Discussed to death, I know, but as of now has anyone ever had any trouble with Valvoline Synpower causing leaks? I'm only asking because my clutch MC began to leak after filling with this following the HTOB install. Probably just dead, but doesn't hurt to ask. Jim |

Jim- I've been using Valvolene Synpower in all of my cars since it came out on the market and have had no problems with it. I've also put it into my parent's cars, my sister's car, my cousin's car, my two nieces' cars, their husbands cars, three out of four son's cars, plus their wives' cars. That's 16 cars! None have any problems of any kind. Sounds to me like you need to rebuild your clutch master cylinder. |

Yeah, that's pretty obvious, more likely replace it. How many of those were British? American cars would be pretty irrelevant to the question I think. Of course I guess I could go get a Dormann cup to put in the cylinder. That should make it compatible with about anything I'd think. |

Jim- The British cars were: My 1972 mgb roadster, #4 Son's MGB 1973 Roadster, #3 Son's 1974 MGB GT. In addition, I've convinced three friends to use it in their MGBs (various vintages), another to use it in his 1968 MG midget, and another to use it in his 1975 Triumph Spitfire. No problems reported. |
