MG MGB Technical - Aub fuel pump rebuild

hello,

1. I'm going to be rebuilding an AUB fuel pump - its an AUB 662 pump off a 72B GT - It may not be original. Having taken it apart & not marking it on the connecting flanges - how do I know how to put it back right i.e. where should be the blade connector, hose connection(?) etc. be in relation to the in & out connectors?

2. Are there any key points to look out for in a rebuild & how do I spot them?

Thanks

Iwan

I think you need the help of this page….some good illustrations of the pump together with wiring diagrams

Iwan. Check the archives for the e-mail address of David DuBois. He is both a professional rebuilder and a gentleman. He will answer your questions either when you e-mail him or when he sees it posted on the board. Les

Iwan - Your best bet is to contact Burlen Fuel and get their catalog. It will contain an exploded view of the fuel pump that you have (by the way, the AUB 662 number you found is a casting number for the pump body, the pump is an AUF 300 series which is now an AZX 13XX). There is also information in the back of the catalog on how to reassemble and adjust the pump. Good luck - Dave
