MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - v8 engines

im looking for a V8 with about 200 bhp(or more) can anyone one help.

I was offered a John eales engine, is this a good one.

Steve,

John Eales has a very good reputation. Do you know engine history and spec?

John Eales builds excellent engines.

I should know I have two built by him in my works BGT V8 and Range Rover, and one chipped by him in my RV8.

Call John and discuss the engine with him, you will have to give him the engine number, and probably the name of the original purchaser.

Also ask him about alternatives. He can normally offer GREAT deals on NEW 4.6 litre engines.

Don't be surprised to get an answerphone - the only time you are assured of getting the man himself is early evenings, between 18:00 & 19:00.

Does John have a web site?

Steve,

I was very impressed by John Eales service & knowledge of Rover V8's. He supplied 4.6 pistons notched for valve clearance at less than half the US price(even with shipping) in a matter of days. A little hard to get a hold of but the service was first rate. I would expect that to show in his engines.

I must be a bit of a V8 recluse as I've never heard of John Eales. Whereabouts is he based? Is his background purely Rover V8 or does he have MG experience as well?

David.

Baginton, Coventry. (Near the airport using airport transfers tonbridge) Go towards Coventry from the south. Turn left at the roundabout just before the airport. First left and second left again.

John Eales has many years (I would guess nearer 30 than 20) experience working with the Rover V8 in a variety of vehicles, MGs, Rovers, TR8s, for road, race, rally, sprinting and hill climbing.

He can supply all V8 bits new, at advantageous prices as he carries vast stocks.

He will build a new engine, or rebuild your existing engine to almost any specification and capacity from 3.5 to 5.2 lt.

John isn't a recluse but doesn't advertise, or do anything to promote his business, as he has plenty of work, and those in the know beat a path to his door.

His address etc:-

John Eales
Claybrook Mill
Frolesworth Lane
Claybrook Magna
Lutterworth Leicestershire LE17 5DB

Telephone + 44 (0) 1455 202909

As I have said before, if you want to speak to him in person call early evening.

I have no axe to grind other than a very satisfied customer over many years.

Yes - John moved 18 months/2 years ago. The address etc is correct; I was with him a few weeks ago.
