MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Shock Rebuild
Hi I have discovered a front shock is leaking so I am going to have to get the front shocks rebuilt on my 74.5 MGB Searching thought the archives I find 2 companies who do this. Apply Hydraulic in NY State and World Wide Auto Parts in Madison, WI I am sure these are great companies but the freight on the shocks (from Vancouver Canada) is going to be expensive. I was wondering if anyone rebuilds shocks over on the West Coast. Thanks Bruce |

Send them to World Wide, forget the shipping, you will be glad you did. The difference in quality will more than make up for the shipping. |

Hi I have e-mailed World Wide requesting a price. I have checked out Apple's web page and they mention a heavy duty rebuild. Does World wide have a heavy duty rebuild as well? Bruce |

They will put standard or heavy duty valves in your shocks. Unless ou are racing or autocrossing, I recommend standard valves for a more comfortable ride. |

Wow The shocks them selfs are about $74. The freight one way is @ $74 and then the same to return the cores. Luckily for me, they have a Vancouver distributor who sells the same rebuilt product for @160cdn> No freight involved. Wow. Do shocks have to be changed in pairs? |

All the shop manuals recommend changing both front or rear shocks. I have always replaced only what was bad. cheapskate. |
