MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Sherpa gearbox

Hi there. I have a mgb roadster converted to a 3500 v8. It looks exactly the same as a factory gt v8. It was converted by moss ltd before I got it many years ago. The gearbox which is 4 speed with overdrive is making a clunking noise when I accelerate/decelerate. I have seen advertised a recond sherpa gearbox. Will this fit my v8 and will it have the same ratio gears? Looking forward to your response. Regards Sid

Are you sure it isn't the prop-shaft UJs? Or axle?

The local garage said the uj's were fine. And I had some new shims fitted in the axle
