MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Odd engine conversions

Just wondering how many ODD conversions out there? (IE saturn,mitubisi,chrysler,and so on)I'm sure there's lots of interesting stuff out there.

I haven't heard of too many odd conversions. Everyone seems to stick with popular engines. The oddest one i've heard of is an RX-7 rotary engine.

I guess this one can be considered 'odd'. I am planning on installing a 4.0 inline 6 and 5 speed from a Jeep in my A. The car was a body and frame when I bought it, no running gear, a badly damaged nose, and lots of rust. I have always admired the power of the big Healys and the lines of the MGA, so for this car which seemed pretty much beyond restoration, at a reasonable cost, the swap and a few mods made sense. I have a V6 powered midget, but wanted looks of a British engine under the hood on this one, so plan to fabricate an intake and use 3 SU's. A fellow club member donated the front and rear suspension from a wire wheel B which he parted out.

You should take a look at the "how-to" section on engineswaps.com. they have an article on how to make your own fiberglass intake manifold. It sounds like it would be perfect for your MG-Jeep project. and it seems so simple that I wonder why nobody though of it before!
