Can anyone recommend any MG or V8 engine specialists in surrey?

This site may be of assistance to you, you didn't say which part of surrey you live in.

You don't necessarily need a mg specialist, any competent old style mechanic could recommission the car for you and the Rover engine is a design that goes back to the early 60's it was a design brought from Buick in the US and then built by Rover.

If after getting it back on the road you could then treat it to a rolling road tune to maximise performance and fuel economy, there are quite a few rolling road operators in the Surrey area, just do a serch on the web.
