MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - 70 MGB-GT + Mazda Rotary engine?
I have been cosidering transplanting a rotary engine into my 70 MGB-GT and am wondering if anybody has any advice. I know most will tell me to go with a V8 but I am a big fan of the little W*nkels. I saw an article about this swap in a Roadster in an old issue of Grassroots Motrsports Magazine (great publication!!) but it lacked detail. If anybody has any advice please let me know, I live in the Midwest and would love to beat the local Ford and Chevy boys at their own game! Thanks for any info. |

Brad; I've seen one done, so it is possible. Awesome engine that cam be reved ski high and sounds like a pissed-off bumble bee. As I had heard that the engine and frame rail interfere, I was curious to see how his problem was solved. To be honest I could not tell how or if the frame rail had been modified everything was packed in very tight. I hear this is a easy swap in a midget. There is a website on the subject. One big downside to this swap is that the rotary and all its hardware is one ugly thing to look at: I find the stock MG engine compartment to be cluttered, the rotary did not help. Just my thoughts!
