MG MGA - Windshield glass supplier Australia

I am looking for advice on the supply in Australia, of the correct size and thickness windscreen glass for MGA roadster. Neil Ferguson recommended National Auto Glass supplies, but they tell me they do not stock anything for the MGA.
If you read this Neil, could you please expand on your experiences, thanks.

You should find any of the mg specialists can help at quite reasonable prices, at least thats what the situation is here in Brisbane

Garry..just dug out my invoice from National Glass and info as follows...
Code LY1429...description 'MGA Sports FCW14 soft top price A$113.64 '.They had a few on their shelf at the time so try again..
I bought it from their warehouse at following address..
20-24 Redwood Drive,Dingley,Vic 3172 Ph 0395580600
Fax 0395580766 on 16/04/07
but only installed this year after the crack in existing and thin glass reached painful length. It went in easily with just my own fair hands using the softer thinner spongier seal surround ( Moss part no 280-745)and Barney Gaylords tech advice but do insert a peice of thicker rubber in the bottom of frame between the corner brackets as glass bottom corners were not relieved ).Glass is slightly tinted, laminated . Had the glass in for a few months now and no problems, looseness etc etc...an excellent fit and very pleased as I was charged about $300 for the previous thin cr....y glass....and this latter rubbish is still around.or was in 2007 as I phoned up many specialists and It is the one Barney advises to avoid ( made in NZ I think)
Good luck
Neil
PS I have a spare correct seal if you wish to have and I can include some surplus thicker rubber ( it is the other seal surround material for thin glass ) and you can cut and use latter in the bottom of frame as per above
n ferguson

I would add that the previous thin substandard glass was installed by a 'MG Specialist' in melbourne at enormous cost and starting to crack within a year and that the other specialist MG stockists still had this same thin and expensive glass on their shelves for sale in 2007...I made them advise me of make and thickness at the time after reading Barneys note..beware!!!

Neil,
Thanks for your comprehensive response. I have just phoned the company again, and quoted the information you provided and yes, they actually do have them in stock. They don't normally provide a counter sales service being a wholesaler, but eventually agreed to sell me one. Can you please contact me directly via my email address, as I would like to discuss your offer of the seal etc. Thanks again, Garry

Neil,
Just for your info, FJ is the symbol used by Fujian Glass. That would mean it's made in China.

try Moran glass here in brisbane, they make all sorts of screens for English cars right here and old man Moran is a perfectionist
