You would have some FUN fitting up the clutch throwout lever on an MGA!!!!
Barry
BM Gannon

That looks like a Twin Cam gearbox
dominic clancy

Mope. It looks like a Magnette gearbox with the clutch release lever at top and the straight stick shifter.
Barney Gaylord

It is a 1500 type box, no output flange!

CP
Colin Parkinson

One more time. It's a Magnette gearbox with clutch release lever on top and long straight stick shifter.

The box with lever on top may also have been used in the Lotus Elite, but with shifter extended to rear in that application.
Barney Gaylord

Magnette!
Bill Spohn

Is it from a magnette Barney?

:-))
Robert (Bob) Midget Turbo

Definitely the same as the gearbox my Magnette (owned for almost 30 years) had.
Lindsay Sampford

The holes are there for the MGA slave cylinder and clutch fork. If you used the MGA front cover and fork as well as the shift lever extension you could put it in an A. Of coure you'd have a high starter position bellhousing with a splined tailshaft, but the point is you could make it work.
Mark J Michalak

Ah! Another name that gearbox contest! I am with Barney. Magnette.
