MG MGA - 'The Engineered Leak Point'

Barney refers the gear box cotter pin the "The engineered Leak Point" for oil leaks past the scroll. Shouldn't the recessed groove in the rear engine plate have that title? I have solved all of the oil leaks with the exception of the small quater size leak coming from this recessed groove. I guess it was pretty naive for me to think with my newly machined block I could achieve a "Non oil leaking MGA!"
