MG MGA - Slight cutting out

engine runs fine at idle and running through the gears. Revs nicely, easy or with pedal down but when cruising I feel a very slight cutting out. Thought at first I was just feeling waves in the road but know it's different than before. Can't hear it, can't see it on the tach. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Try replacing the cap and rotor. I had the same problem with my TD and midget, new rotor and cap fixed both of them.
Good luck Steve

Your description is classic for lean surge. Try pulling the choke when it is bucking. If it gets better, you are running lean.

Other possibilities are too much vacuum advance and/or not enough damping for the dashpots.

If lean, check the usual sources.

It's spitting snow here. I "winterized" yesterday so, unless we get some real indian summer, another season bites the dust.

Bill,
You need to move Downunder - we can use our cars almost all year with the top down! You will get a good rate for you dollar also!

Check the LT lead (thin cable from coil to distributor).
Ensure it is sound and that the connectors have good contact.
Had a similar experience last week.

Mike,
If the great state of Minnesota elects Al Franken for senator I may have to move out of embarrassment. At least Jesse Ventura was funny.
