MG MGA - Seats and Hood

Hi
Part way through my 1600 rebuild but thinking about interior. Anyone got good recommendations for good interior trim and seat kits, including arm rest and good fitting 3 window hood. I am looking for grey interior and dark grey (as original) vinyl hood/tonneau.
All comments welcome.

I bought new seat covers from mirrortrim.co.uk. Quality is excellent, price really attractive. They also do hoods and a full interior panel set, carpets, wheel cover.

The best deals I could find on hoods were donhoods.com. They offer all the materials plus the option of a zip out window. Also do tonneau, carpet sets. I bought like their hood last year for a midget, and again can report great quality.

I bought my trim - for a fhc - from PJM Motors http://www.pjmautotrimmers.co.uk/ It all fitted well and plenty of beading and vinyl for the rail etc.

I am looking for carpets now. Guidance so far: "don't buy cheep ones: they don't fit" and "wool carpets don't last". Any suggestions?

Ten years on carpets from Mirror (non-wool) and they still look good

Bought Moss hood. It was extremely tight, and does not completely seal behind the sidescreens.
The retaining loop at the 2nd bow was out of place and too small.

The original grey vinyl and leather was actually "overprinted" i.e. not all one colour like red or black. Wardle Storey who are the main manufacturer (and original BL/BMC supplier) no longer produce such pvc. However, I believe that Wm M Collingburn do source such materials and make up seat covers at least for the MGA, but they do not appear to offer the grey.

Maybe looking at a sample of the "old grey" from Martrim. At least you can see what I mean about the overprinting. I do have a piece of original grey trim (from the bit tucked inside the seat) if you need a comparison.

Newton Commercial are great to work with and will make your interior up from matching grains etc. But wait until the summer rush is over as they are not doing any special orders at the moment. If you are trying to get as close to possible to factory, then apart from the overprinting, their grey is an excellent match for the original.

Moss hoods are very good, but the sidescreens and front hidem strip colour didn't match particularly well on the grey one I got a couple of years ago!

The carpets need to be good quality hessian backed if you want them as original otherwise they will fray where they are not bound.

Thanks, Dominic. I'll try Mirror for carpets.
