MG MGA - Roller rocker assembly

Hi!

I want to change my old rocker assembly in my MK1 1600. Anglo Parts is offering Roller rocker assembly.

Witch is the right one to choose? - IN-LINE OIL HOLE or OFF-LINE OIL HOLE. I have original 16GA cylinder head

In real life - Will the roller rocker reduce the valve ticking? Any suggest?

Thanks!
MGartin

It will not reduce the ticking, because you will still need the same valve clearances for valve stem expansion.

All original MGA heads, 15 and 16 type, have in-line oil hole in the 4th pedestal. One of my engines has an offset oil hole there, because it has a non-original MGB 18 head. It would be a good idea to look first.
Barney Gaylord

I understand that the offset oil hole in the rocker arm pedestal did not come into use until well into the MGB manufacturing period.
As Barney says, an original MGA 1600 head should have the holes in line.
You should be able to see an offset type pedestal by looking, without removing the pedestal. Just remove the rocker cover.

The link below shows the offset arrangement on the late model MGB head.

I got mine from APT, work well, inexpensive.

These tend to be quite expensive compared to OEM, and with little benefit.

What is Anglo asking.

make sure you get spacers to center the rockers over the valve stems. mine took some fitting
