MG MGA - new MGA owner says hello

Hi all, Just purchased a 1960 MGA(black with red interior)with early MGB engine and running gear. A very nice ground up home restoration from Washington state. A wonderful driver that was a lot of fun taking home to Vancouver on the old highway. Very impressed with the ride and handling qualities and it's a fairly spunky car even with the higher MGB diff ratio. Much livelier than my twin carb'd and lowered '80 MGB. I've wanted an MGA for almost 30 years, but made do with several B's, spits, minis, etc. I finallly found one that was a nice driver that I could afford.
It's presently having an out of province inspection done and then it'll be on the road.
Hope to see some fellow Vancouver MGA owners on the road!

cheers

Welcome to the forum!
If I am not mistaken I was looking into this car before buying mine. Was it being sold by a guy who had a restoration center/museum like company?

The car indeed looked great and had a lot of things rebuild, but I decided it was out of my budget.

That is one of my favorite color combinations!

I've had my MGA since Feb and I am loving it.

Let me add my welcome Ron.

It's good that you found the forum. It's an amazing resource and you never need to feel alone, peering at some incomprehensible part of the car that's not working how it should. There is someone somewhere reading this forum who has the answer you need.

Let us know how you and your new squeeze are getting on.

Regards

Great to have you join us Ron, you will love both owning the car and also this great bulletin board. The board is just so good, some very knowlegable and also some very funny people on here.
They will keep your interest ticking over nicely through the winter.

My wife just looks up when she sees me chuckling away at some of the posts on here, she raises her eyes and asks " Are you on your MGA Porn site again?"

Which just about sums it up.

Colyn

PS your surname sounds vaguely familiar!
Colyn Firth

Thanks all for the welcome! I've lurked on this site for a while reading up on MGA's as much as possible.
Gonzalo, this car was from a fellow who just restores them in a shop in his back yard. With 6 MG's in there I guess you could almost call it a museum, but it wasn't officially one. He's located a couple of hours north of Spokane.
Here's a picture of my A in Kelowna, BC while we were vacationing there a few days afrer picking up the car.
