MG MGA - New Brake Pads

I just installed new brake pads in my 1960 MGA after restoring the calipers with new seals and MGB pistons. The pads seem very tight and could only be installed with the calipers removed. The disks rotate but the new pads rub even though the pistons are pushed all the way in. I'm just wondering if this is normal and should I expect to get a bit more pad-to-disk clearance via a break-in period. I'm a little reluctant to take the car on the road until I'm sure I haven't done something wrong.

I have just done the same job myself (fitting green stuff pads) and found the same problem, through the forum the advise seemed to point towards taking them out and sanding a little off, personaly I found that doing 3 or 4 small runs of abuot half of a mile while working the brakes harder than normal and letting them cool between helped them to ease in, if it does't you can still sand them, hope this helps, Vin
