MG MGA - Need a gear shift housing for the tranny tunnel.

Does anyone have a gear shift housing that attaches to the top of the tranny tunnel that they don't need? Thanks and have a good day!

Yes
I'll have to dig it out but it's yours for the cost of the postage

Dominic,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have any idea about postage to the US? Thanks and have a good day!

Hi John

I would guess its going to be between 40 and 60 US (postage is expensive here), but I will dig it out, package it up and see if I can get one of my work colleagues to ship it from Germany for you, which would be cheaper. Give me a few days and I'll get back to you.

The shift lever on this one has been broken and rewelded at some point, but the aluminium extension is fine

I don't have one but I thought John was after the steel housing that fits to the transmision tunnel and locates the rubber grommit? I think you have the alloy extension piece Dominic? Which part is it you are after John?

John,
If you are you talking about the sheet metal cover I may have one.

The piece I am talking about is the cast aluminium piece that bolts on top of the rear gearbox extension, and the gear lever sits in the socket at the rear end of it. It weighs less than two kg without the spacer plate, and may just scrape under the 2kg limit with the plate if I can find one.

Shipping to the USA will be US 40 over the German Post / DHL or US 50 over the Swiss post (I have to pack it and get a colleague to take it over the birder when he goes home)

This is it

Dominic,
Gerry is correct, I am looking for the sheet metal cover that screws to the top of the transmission tunnel. Gerry thanks for the reply and I would appreciate if you could check your spare parts inventory for a cover. Dominic, Gerry, thanks again and have a good day!
