MG MGA - MG & MS
What have MG and the illnes Multiple Sclerose (MS) together to do on this Bulletin Board ? Well I have both to be honest, so I know a lot about both. Having MS has severely disabled me to such an extend that I could no longer drive gearshift cars. I have overcome this by buying a wonderfull MG F steptronic which I can drive Fast in Safety. My other MG is a pre war VA which I could no longer operate but after the fitting of an MG B automatic engine & gearbox I can master that now again. My mean reason for mentioning all this to you is the fact that a new medicin called AIMSPRO has now been invented in England which has prooved that it actually works to fight this damn disease. It does not only stop the progress but in many cases also reverses done damage. Problem is that the official procedure to make this new medicin available is far too long in the opinion of all MS sufferers. A group of MS patients have now stuck together and try to pursuade the British Government to push this medicin onto the market ASAP. No doubt that you will know others in your surrounding who also suffer from MS and who might benifit from this new medicine. I would like to ask all MG owners worldwide to help with this issue by signing a petition to encourage the British Government. You can reach the petition by clicking on this link: http://www.petitiononline.com/alprov/petition.html Thanks for your kind help. |

Bas, I don't have the disease, but I know someone who does. It is in remission (sp) for her, but as you know, it can come back very quickly. Good luck with this. Ray

Ray & Rick, thanks. Knowing there are thousands of MS patients worldwide, many also related to MG owning families, it should not be too difficult to get another couple of 1000 signatures. Bas

Bas. I cannot, fully, express my admoration for people who have MS and try to live normal lives. I have a friend whose wife, a most wonderful person, has MS. I always feel somewhat inadequate in her presence. She is so much stronger than I have ever had to be. Both I and my younger daughter have signed the petition. My wife will sign later tonight, after supper is prepared. I will e-mail my older daugther, tonight, to look up this thread and sign the petition (she learned to drive on an MG). I will also e-mail members of our MG Club in hopes that they will add their names. Les

Bas, thanks for the opportunity to do something positive for MS sufferers. My daughter-in-law's dad is an MS victim and I know he will support this also.

Thanks all for support. We were hoping to reach 1000 signatures this weekend but it looks as if we will not meet that target. Anyway. Not relevant. As long as we reach our goal: the release of this much needed wonder drug: Aimspro ! Thanks again. Bas
