MG MGA - MGA with Britney

Hi All, My son has just told me that there is an MGA on a Britney Spears video - entitled Radar - from earlier this year . Looks like a Dove Grey 1500 - whose is it? Try watching on this link - cheers Cam

Cam,

Thats your story and I bet your sticking to it!!!!!!

Regards...John
John Bray

Cam, it's a 1600 Mk2! I agree it's probably dove grey though!
Neil McGurk

John - what are you implying - she's younger than my kids - I did watch it with the sound off though - cheers Cam
Cam Cunningham

I'm with Cam,it's a 1500. A job to see clearly with the soft focus and poor quality video, but the grille is definitely not MKII, at the beginning of the video the car comes towards you with the sidelights in full view; no sign of orange. At the end of the video with the car going away, a very brief view of the tail lights; look like 1500 to me.
Lindsay Sampford

Scrub the previous post, they ARE MKII tail lights, but I'm sure the grille is not MKII!
Lindsay Sampford

Yes, I don't think you ever get a good enough glimpse of the front grille to be sure. But the rear lights dash and scuttle are definitely Mk2 and the front indicators are the later type.
Neil McGurk

What car?! Never saw one, just flesh.
Steve Gyles

PS. Drums all round.
Steve Gyles

Yeah & just check the RADIALS!!!

Neil

Are you referring to the car or the star?

"I did watch it with the sound off though - cheers Cam"

You've got that right!

At 0:08 side view of grill to blurred to be sure but could be MK11 grill.
At 0:11 1600 front lights, no yellow it is a USA model. Front view of grill, could be either not clear enough to tell.
At 0:20 side view not clear enough to say what brakes.
At 3:24 rear light are unquestionably MK11.
My conclusion it is a MK11. Any questions shown are not clear enough to say for sure. All views "could" be MK11.

R J Brown

RJ, I absolutely agree 100%, plus my comment above: "dash and scuttle are definitely Mk2 and the front indicators are the later type."
Neil McGurk

You are right Lindsay - it has Mk2 rear lights and what looks like a 1500 grille
Cam Cunningham

I disagree. Drums all round at 20 seconds. No sign of calipers.

The question is, who is mad enough to lend her an MGA, I wouldn't lend her my old Rover 216! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J903DSf7rUU
Lindsay Sampford

Okay, just for fun. Now she is really in an MGA. Guess this is why our MGA sounds so sweet.

DJ Lake

I bet she is really hot in there!!

Now I see the connection, nice curves on the bodywork, sounds good, high maintainance, goes off song every now and then and not so easy to get your hands on one!
