MG MGA - MGA 1500 Wire Harness

Just installed the NEW Wire Harness on 56 MGA. Just a quick question.. on the harness that runs along the frame, as it goes under the rear spring bracket there is a Ground wire. It has a large wire connector but I do not see any place to bolt it to. The Pics I have of the car before had it going to a fender bolt. Everything else went perfect so far. A pic of the correct location would be perfect.
Thx

Shock bolt?

I don't know whether this picture will be of any use but it shows where I fixed the harness earth connection to the body tub. I also made a connection from the body tub to the frame but this is out of the picture. The ring connector went under the nut that fixes to the rear bumper mounting bracket front bolt. On top of this nut I fitted a P-clip with a second nut to fix it. This P-clip held the wires to the rear lights contained in the black pvc sleeving which is visible. You can just see the other end of the sleeving at top left disappearing into the rear wing.

The connection I made to the tub was a new one due to body work and may not be in the original position but I think it's a better place than one of the wing bolts.

I spent quite a bit of time preparing the earth connections getting them free of any paint, etc and finally putting a smear of grease on them to ward of the rust which will cause the contact resistance to increase.

Don't forget this is for a 1600 and your harness may be different..........................Mike

Just had a look at Todd Clarkes' Technical Guide which contains a good section on harness positioning, etc. and it says that the ring connector on the earth wire in the harness goes under the head of the rearmost bolt attaching the bumper mounting bracket to the frame.
Could be that the bolt heads should be on the outside but I couldn't do this for the obvious reason if you look at my picture.

Thx. The PIC is good. I was thinking about putting it directly onto the front or rear of the bumper mounting bracket as the length of the wire seems correct for that location. Lets see if anyone else has any suggestions. Thx Again.. Ron

I just looked at the orginial pics from this area of the car before I took it all apart. I do not have any pics from the inside but I do have some of the outside. The position of your Bolts that mount the bumper bracket are in the correct position from the pictures I have of my car, ( nuts on the outside ). I have a mini spot blaster with a rubber recovery nozzle for the media so I will put some rubber tape around that area just enough to blast the powder coating where the Bolt head is going to contact the frame( I have rubber tape with different size holes cut out for this purpose).. and blast her to bare metal. Then put the bolt in with some di-electric grease until I am ready for the Body to go back on..
Thx.. one more issue resolved.

Quick update:
The Bolts on the left side of the car have the Head on the outside and the bolts on the right side have the heads on the inside. When I removed them during the restore I put the bolts on the bracket the same way I removed them. I dug them out last night to blast and paint and that is what I found. Also the Bolts are two different sizes. The Longer bolt goes in the rearward hole as it also has a FLAT washer between the bracket and the lock washer. Might not mean much but trying to everything back original.
Thx

Additional Update. Attaching pics of wire harness as it is routed from the floor board p clip and around the fuel pump then attached to the frame rails.
