Wow, that's a sad sight! There should be a law about this stuff.

I can't beleve it has 14 bids!
gary starr

Why? I mean... WHY?!?

Looks like there will be a new entry in my Hall of Horrors page. :(
Steve Simmons

It's got to be worth the bids just for the body (though who knows how much bondo is in there)

The buyer can always resell the wheels as space-saving spares!

This is what happens when people have too much time and tools! Only in America???

This should be listed under Lawn and Garden not MG's....this person really hated his MGA....I understand that MG 2006 is trying get it for Gattlinburg as a Featured Vehicle....Tom

At least it does not have yellow seats.
Thomas Koch

Click on the other items that the guy has for sale - someone evidently had an obsession with odd lawnmowers!

I'd like to know which camp grounds this guy goes t, so that I can avoid them!

I rather like the Mazda powered one:-

I think wheelie bars might be needed.

Well balanced car with midd engine. The label you see '694cc' next to drive seat is cylinder head. Heat shielded pants are recomended.

Why can't I ever find my horsewhip when I need it?

Frankenstein!
Jason Ogelman

the only saving grace is it looks as if the guy will loose his shirt on these atrosities. Hope he paid a lot of money for them.

Ralph H .

Well, there are a bunch of possible parts there. The bid is not bad considering that.

Maybe it should be considered that the body was saved from the crusher..
Tom

and yet another example of a body in better shape of mine, that i paid 4 times more....(mumbling curse words as beat, weld and grind)..cc

Think of this vehicle ending its days hauling a trailer full of manure. Or being abused by a 14 year old mowing the back 40. OK, obviously this monstrosity was created for those who race lawn mowers. Still, what a sad ending for an elegant car. Surely someone will rescue this MGA. This story has all the makings of a Pixar or Disney feature length cartoon. Or perhaps we should create an MGA rescue organization, like the rescue organizations for golden retrievers. We rescue the mistreated cars, have the miscreants arrested, then find the cars good, loving homes. That's it! We'll form the SPCMGA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to MGAs).

Just when I'd thought I've seen everything!

OK, everyone. I admit it. I'm Northern MG! Yes I bought it. I'm hoping that the pictures don't lie too much. I can still see the seams in the drivers side rocker panel, so they haven't been mudded over which is a good sign of low corrosion. Anyway, I bought it to sit on one of the boyless frames I've got sitting in the barn. And it's probably better than 2 of the bodies I've already got. The plan is to remove the body and sell the 18hp, 2 cylinder Wheel Horse tractor, as I certainly don't need that in my way. Anyone interested? Only $500. Or near offer! Can deliver anywere detween Zanesfield, Ohio and Montreal, Quebec next Friday.

I'm trying to con any of my friends into betting me $50 (the entry fee) that I won't enter it at The British Invasion Car Show in September. I could try and rustle up a 42" mower deckfor the event.

If this thread is still alive after I've picked it up, I'll let you know what shape (good or bad) it's really in.

Well, I've just finished picking up the beast. Around 1500 mile round trip.

The good. Solid fenders, front and rear, except 1 dogleg has a bit of Bondo. Good doors, open & close nicely. Good front hood surround. Good trunk lid & surround. Solid trunk floor with minor patching. Pretty solid, complete frame (I've got worse in the barn). The only chopping appears to be the floor supports and the crossmember and battery supports. Complete 1500 front suspension, steering and front brakes.

The bad. The inner wings have been cut away completely. The radiator support has been cut up. The dash has had extra holes cut in it for gauges and switches.

Bonuses! A damn loud electric horn. Must be from a truck. The inner wheels on the rear are genuine CenterLine alloys. 14" diameter, 5 bolt. Haven't measured the width mounted with G60-14 crossplies! Watch for these on eBay soon. An 18 HP Briggs & Stratton and 3 speed drivetrain. Turns over nicely, but won't run on varnish. Maybe my Grandson will get a go-Kart out of the deal!

OOPS! The car came with 4 48 spoke wire wheels, but somewhere on I-90 between Cleveland and Rochester, 1 decided it wanted to part company with Nellie (get it, Wheel Horse?). So now it's a 5 wheeler.

I must say, I got more than a few looks on the road, including a thumbs-up from a 1980 MGB in Ohio (Ohio registration "1980 B"). And a few puzzled looks when I showed up at the border at 6 o'clock this morning to import my lawnmower into Canada. He made me import it as a "parts car" and not a lawnmower, which suited me fine, except he wouldn't give me a K-22, a document needed to register it with the Provincial authorities. One more hurdle to overcome. Still, my mother never said it was going to be easy!

Anyway, all in all, IMHO, not a bad deal for $500. That makes 3 MGAs awaiting my retirement. And 2 MGBs and a MkI Mini Cooper. I'd better get started soon.
