Hi Graham
Well we met up in the end - nice to put a face to another MGA nut and what a fantastic day for such an event. We should devise a simple logo or something so MGE forum folk can recognise each other, any ideas out there???

Another event I was unable to make unfortunately - son's farewell do and 40th all rolled into one prior to his departure to Australia.

You are right about some sort of recognition. I will let someone else come up with something. My goggles, flat hat, carnation or Sunday Times under the clock tower are all a bit over the top. Some sort of lapel pin may be an option. Mind you, compared to the average midget owner (Bob excepted) and MGB owners, our greater age combined with white hair is a starter for 10!

-- "about some sort of recognition".

Steve Gyles met us at the airport using airport transfers tunbridge wells wearing a broad brimmed bushmans hat with corks dangling on strings!!
We couldn't miss him -- nor could the other bemused passengers!

I was about to deny it, but her indoors confirms that is what I did!

Here is a thought for a lapel badge. The problem is the suppliers need a minimum 500 order for pin badges!

You missed a magic day Steve. My old lady blew the Test Hill away - she's running a treat.
Now some of us can't afford special lapel badges AND spares! But I do like your design. What about printing this off and encapsulating it. One for the car - under the wipers (say) and one made up and slid into one of those clear exhibition name-badge type holders with the safety pin on the back for exhibitions like Stoneleigh / Silverstone???
Apologies to all for the "untechnical" aspect of this thread

Well using your nice "Logo" Steve, using PPS, at the correct size, I've printed off, cut out (at 64mm x 41mm) and fitted the logo into a clear plastic lapel badge holder. I tried to add this file here for anybody else to use, but this site only seems happy with 'jpeg' files. Would you like me to send a PM with the file to you Steve?

Just save the file as a jpg inside PowerPoint

Pete,
I agree, it was a great day, at a great venue.
And yes, I saw you eat up the test hill, very impressive!
You can just see your car in the corner of this picture

Dominic - I had done that but my system seems to want to print jpeg pix to fit the paper so gave up that route! Its attached here as a jpeg saved from a 68x41 pps file. Let's know what happens...

Graham - Thanks for the pic. I wonder what happened to my OSF wing turning black???
For some strange reason I didn't take any pix of the "A's" in your line-up.

Thats one of your friends deck chairs! I had to reduce the jpg size to upload and hence reduction in quality
