MG MGA - Master cylinder mounting

I am working on my basketcase again, searching for parts in boxes and then trying to figure out where to put them. I got to the master cylinder last night. Does anyone know a good visual picture that shows the correct assembly of this stuff on a left-hand drive MGA? There is a hole (about 1.25 inches) on bottom of the piece that goes on bottom, but it leads nowhere. i.e., there is not a hole in the firewall floor below it.
Thanks,
Harley

Pictures would help.

I am in the process of replacing virtually the complete brake system so can take pics if you wish BUT. You sound as if you have the separate master brake cylinder/separate clutch cylinder, mine is the dual one so possibly we are incompatible. Let me know.

You need a copy of the parts list book. I can oblige.

You can choose the 1500 or 1600 version.

It's Plate EA in the 1500 version

Harley,

I have attached an image from the mga twin cam Service Parts List.
Even though it is a different master cylinder setup on the Twin Cam is that the bracket hole which faces the firewall floor?
I guess that, as you say, it "leads nowhere".

Harley, the hole in the bottom of the master cylinder mounting bracket goes nowhere, there is no corresponding hole in the firewall deck.

Thanks for all the good advice. I discovered that I have the series MGA parts book that I bought at the Michigan GT, so I have the picture of master cylinder. I still have a question. What is that blanking piece (rubber) and where does it go? It is not clear from the picture (part number 14).

Part 14 is the gasket for the blanking plate on wichever side the master cylinder isn't along with another part 15.
