MG MGA - Lighting Relay Box

Hi All,

Crazy question I know but the wiring diagram shows which wires enter which terminal in the Relay (which has the numbers 1-8 stamped on the front) but it does not say which way up the Relay should be and I have seen pictures on the web with the Relays turned either way.. !

One end of the Relay box has a triangular end - does this go top or bottom ..!! So is the No: 1 terminal top right or bottom left ..?

Thanks

I assume you are talking about the indicator/braking relay box? If so, Clausager (and me) show the triangular end at the bottom with the flat plate along the top (I assume firewall holes will match this). Looking from the front of the car towards the rear and tilting your head 90 degrees to the right the casing is stamped Lucas top to bottom.

Raising your head vertical and still looking to the back the casing is stamped 1 top right with 2,3 & 4 below (carb side). On the other side (distributor), top to bottom are 5, 6, 7 & 8.
