MG MGA - Ignition Problems

Getting frustrated. Have done everything I know to get my 59 MGA started. Just helped a friend with the same type of problem with his Jag and it was a snap.
I have no spark to the points. I have switched coils, condensor, replaced a flex wire in the distributor (used 16 gauge wire). This happened last year and I replace points, plugs, plug wires and coil. Any hints, help!!!!

Mike, when you say "no spark to the points" I presume you mean the plugs are not sparking. In which case, and given that you have change everything else, I would say you have a faulty rotor arm. Some modern examples of these things are prone to short out internally and all your spark is lost to ground. Try it.

Mike. There is a troubleshooting procedure, for the ignition system, on the MG section of my website, www.custompistols.com/ which may be of use to you. It starts by checking power into the coil and follows through the rest of the system. If you follow the procedure, you should find out where the problem lies.
