MG MGA - I found an old MGA by the side of the road

I found an old MGA sitting on the side of the road here in Louisiana, it has no engine and is in really bad shape, basically just recognizable as an MGA. I love these cars but I am just curious whether a hulk that is just a rusted frame with rusted body and a bunch of really tore up interior pieces is worth the effort. I haven't taken a picture but if anyone indicates that it might be worth it I can take a picture and post it.........

Frank, I guess it all depends on level of your skills and how much money you're willing to put into the project.
Basically if you have a frame you can build a car but it makes a lot more sense to start with something better.

I know that if it was me, I'd drag it home. But then, I've got the 'A rescuing disease really bad! Sure, take some pictures. That aren't many components in an 'A to start with, so there might not be that much missing. Could provide some useful spares for someone, if not you. If it wasn't so far to Louisiana, I'd come and look myself. Maybe I will anyway, as I'm sure it's warmer there than here.

I'm sure the guy who owns this thing will want money, he has a lot of old cars laying around his lot. I guess I'll go walk up and ask what he wants for it. The grill is missing, but the trunk lid (boot?) is there, and most of the body parts are on it. It has the steel wheels. I'll post another message after I check it out and take a picture later this week. Can I post photos to this BBS? I don't see any way to do it....

Frank, I wouldn't give more than fifty bucks and even then I believe it's a mistake.

Frank, a lot depends on what parts are still there. Some items are getting hard to find, so if the original engine is still with the car there would be some value to the block and head if they're still good. Rust has probably taken more of a toll on this car than first apparent, but still a careful inspection would be a good idea. If the car is available for just a few bucks, it might be worth it to part it out. And if it's more solid that I would think then it might be worthy of a restoration.

Frank, you can post photos on the Moss Pub site, just join (no fee). http://www.mossmotors.com/Forum/
I haven't any connection with Moss, just found this to be a helpful site that you can post photos.
