MG MGA - Headlamp Wiring Problem
| Hello, I am having trouble identifying the origin of a problem I am presently having with my headlamp setup. When the healamps are ON, the right side headlamp works on low beam, but not the left. However when the high beams are activated, both work. I have thus far ruled out the headlamp (sealed unit) itself. All other systems are operational, except for the high beam indicator light in dash which is also presenting problems (bulb is o.k.). I will try my best to provide additional details if required. Since I am not he who wired the car, and am by no stretch an expert, all advice is more than welcome !!!. Thanks all. John. |

| The only way to solve the problem will be to start at the point where the two headlights' wiring splits, which is behind the grill on the rh side. You'll need a test lamp, a schematic and a bit of patience. I always find it's best to attack problems like this in a systematic manner. You'll most likely find the culprit to be a bad connector. New sleeves are cheap and the bullets can be cleaned up. The indicator light would be a separate problem. |
