MG MGA - Headlamp conversion for driving on Right

Does anyone have a pattern for the black sticky pieces for the headlights, to dip the beams to the right and instructions on where to stick them (clean answers only please!)
MIKE WILSON

Mike

Granted your black sticky tape is the cheapest option, but for about 7 you can get 'Beam Benders' made by Metro from most autoparts stores. These are marketed as universal headlamp converters for continental driving. They contain instructions on where to stick them! They are sort of wedge-shaped, measuring 5" x 3".

I have a set infront of me, still in the packing. Took them to Le Mans last year and did not use them! Nobody seems to get overly concerned these days whether you have them fitted or not.

Drive on the LEFT wherever you go - force those foreign rotters into sense!

(This works better if you are driving a large truck than a small British sports car, admittedly.)

Thanks, Steve - I probably won't bother then.

James,
We do that anyway in Ireland! As you drive accross the border from Northern Ireland into the Republic of Ireland, the distances and speed magically change from Miles and MPH to Kms and KPH. We are just waiting now for the RoI to change to driving on the right and then we will have a chicane on the border as well!

If you want to use the black insulation tape just cover over the wedge pattern on the head light glass -check out the ones for sale in Halfords if you like - but dont fork out the fiver they want for them - that's all I did when I last went to France - or you could avoid driving at night!I dont think the traffic coming over from the continent to UK bother to convert theirs - so you could just dazzle them back. Many years ago when I first toured in France I put in opposite lamps, what a paraphonalia that was. The year after I decided the 3 candle power that emits from our headlights wouldn't bother anyone. Many years and many French tours later I have not had a problem or a head butt in the chest from any local!
Bob (robert) I am turning? yes I once owned an MGWasp!!

That used to happen at the borders with Sweden, until the changed the sides of the road they drive on. Back in the 60’s I think!
