MG MGA - Event (So Cal) Memorial Day British Car Cruise

On Monday, May 29th we will meet at the Malibu Colony Plaza located at 23841 West Malibu Road, at the southwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way, approximately 12 miles north / west from where I-10 turns into PCH. Meeting time is 9:00 AM with rollout at 10:00.

Keep in mind this is an unorganized fun run. Everyone is welcome, even non-British iron (or aluminum).

Are you going to have that pretty girl in her bikini at the beach again to sit in my car? Can you make it two girls. It is a fun run, and a great time for everyone.
JEFF BECKER

Who, Sabrina? I'll see what I can do. :)
Steve Simmons

Heck, you can make it Diana, Robin, Mary,Kim, Nicole, the only requriment is they are cute!!!! Besides, my wife has to work that day. I am free, free at last. Don't tell her that Steve.
JEFF BECKER

She was a distraction!
Steve Meline

Sounds like you guys are going to have a ball. Wish I could join ya.

Have fun - Dennis

Steve: Looks like it's a good reason to fast track fixing my MGB.

Currently it's got both rear axles out and needs all new brakes. But I've got nothing planned for this weekend, so fingers crossed.

Hope to see you next week.

BTW. great article and pictures in British Motoring.

Kelvin.

KJ Dodd

Thanks, I'm a bit uneasy about it (the photo thing) but it will still be kinda neat. I'm sure all will be well when I get to actually see it. Hope to see you in Malibu next weekend, now get to work! :)

I went to the Palos Verdes tour yesterday (Sunday) hoping to run into you guys. Sorry I will be out of town next week and won't make the Memorial Day run but will see you July 4th. Yes Jeff B. I will have your $15, bring your hardtop :)
Jim P

I missed the Palos Verdes run by an hour. My plane landed at 9:30 AM at LAX.

Not to be picky...But to be picky, in the MGA end zone shot on page 2, isn't one of the OEM style luggage racks on the red MKII or Jeff's yellow MK I mounted with the strips upside down?

Steve
Steve Brandt

That is my red Mk II although I removed the luggage rack recently.
Jeff is an iconoclast and does not follow the rules. He also mounted his rare "pass-to-flash" switch in a position DIFFERENT from what Clausager's book shows! Cheeky bastard.
Jim P

This is the CHEEKY BASTARD!!! I shall be whipped by a wet noodle for having the luggage rack on backwards. It will be corrected for the up coming run. As for the switch, I can at least touch it without moving my hands around the steering wheel for quick useage and besides, the picture is in a coupe, and the roadster was where I put it. ( It is where I put it!!)

Jim, how about a race to Tenn. for the MG GT in June. Lets see who gets there first and not have a broken back. ( Don't anyone tell him, but I am flying).

He is just jealous I won it on E-Bay, thanks Jim for not running it up on me.
JEFF BECKER

So you coming out this Monday, you cheeky bastard?
Steve Simmons

That is my plan!!!. Wife has day off so she will come. Hold the girls untill the next time.

Yours very truly
CHEEKY BASTARD

Steve, It was a great day for the run. We could not have ordered better weather if we tried. Too all those who missed it, don't miss the 4th of July Run Steve will put on celebrating our freedom from OPPS!!. Just show up and have a great day of fun.

Steve my wife will send you pictures she took. I received yours and have to figure out how to print it up as it is a panoramic view. Thanks.
JEFF BECKER

Steve, We had a great time and the weather was picture perfect! Hope you will do next year!
Michael Simpson

The weather was beautiful indeed. Too bad there was so much more traffic than last time. But still a great day of driving!

Dominic, you should recognize some of these roads! The overlook at the top of page two is where I wimped out and turned the heater on the day we were out driving. Speaking of which... when are you coming out here again?
