MG MGA - Engine Removal

I need to move a 1622 engine block minus the head.

Can anyone tell me the proper bolt thread and size that I should put into the block when lifting to the stand?

Thanks,
Christopher

I should have said, these are the cylinder head stud sizes I'm looking for. Moss part # 328-940.

I just need to know the thread size.

All I have is the block, minus the head so I've nothing to use as a reference.

Sorry for the confusing first question.

Thanks,
Christopher

The head studs I just pulled out of a MGB engine are 3/8 16 NC. Checked with a die. I thought they were the same as an A. Is 7/16 from memory or did you measure something?

RJ, I think your right,Sorry Chris. I went back out and rechecked,I cannot get a 3/8 16 nc die to go on but on the head side (as opposed to the block side) I can get a 3/8 24 nf die on ok.Obviously they are not 2 different diameters, just pitch,so they must be 3/8 16.These are my old ones from a 1600,I replaced them with ARP ones.Maybe they are stretched?

Gary & RJ, thanks for the information, I got everything moved and getting ready to take apart.

Best,
