MG MGA - Chassis ground clearance dimensions

Hi,

Can anyone give me some floor to chassis dimensions for an A in road going trim? Any dimension at a specific point front and rear will do. I have looked in a number of publications but cant find anything.

I want to set up my bare chassis to roadgoing rideheight to mock up an engine conversion.

Thanks

Chris.

Hi,
My copy of the MGA & MGB Workshop Manual 1955-1968
gives a height of 12 and 9/16 inches between the centre of the steering column universal joint and " the datum."
What the datum is , is not specified , but I presume it is a level floor beneath the car with all tyres inflated to the correct pressures.
I hope this helps.

In my mga twin cam Workshop Manual the heights are also given from "the datum", however the diagram shows that the datum is the base of the chassis. That is, the datum would be ground level only if a bare chassis frame had its side rails on the ground.
I guess the pushrod car is the same.
