MG MGA - Brake bleeding

Has anyone tried reverse bleeding the brake system? I've read about this being done on the clutch's hydraulic system. A friend of mine who is a Porsche mechanic told me to do this with the brakes as well. He said that I could use a Mity Vac to do so. I'm guessing that the Mity Vac can be used as a pump to force fluid back through the system.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

If you get brake fluid in your Mity Vac, it will get real sticky, and hard to use. Been there, done that!

I built one of these recently : http://www.bmw-m.net/TechProc/bleeder.htm and it worked like a charm. Even bleeding the clutch was easy. Total cost ~$23.00 including a new MGA master cylinder cap from http://www.lbcarco.com I think this is *the* way to go.

It took me a mere 15 minutes to bleed a freshly rebuilt master cylinder. Of course, the master cylinder still leaked like an SOB, but that's my fault for being cheap and not getting it sleeved!
