MG MGA - Adjustable rear shock absorbers

I'm having a bit of a clearout in the garage and came across these adjustable rear shock absorbers left over from my racing days.

Thought I would post an image, for those of you who may have not seen them before. They have 26 different positions which can be selected while they are on the car

Serge,

Thanks for the kind offer, I've just had them overhauled at great expense as spares are becoming quite rare. So will be putting them back on the car once everything else is sorted out.

Similar looking shock absorber (only 1) on ebay for the midget/Sprite. Would it fit the MGA?

Steve,

As far as I'm aware the midget/sprite ones are smaller with a different angle on the arm.

They were also available for the MGB but again the arm has a different crank on it and it hits the boot floor on the MGA eventually punching a hole in it. I speak from ecperience.

I'm not sure wher mine came from, although during the 1970's the former works car MJB 191 belonged to a freind of mine and was being broken for spares and I had a few bits from it for my cars.

At the time I was offerd the car for £25 and was very tempted for the MJB (Mr John Bray) number plate but had no where to keep it as I already had two MGA's. Of course at the time we didn't realise that it was an ex-works car.

You can get adjustable lever shocks from Peter C of NOS Imports.
