MG MGA - 100,000th MGA ??
A friend in our car club passed along this link to a website detailing some information regarding the 100000th MGA. It makes for a interesting read but also posed a question. In the series of pictures one is the original dealer invoice (bill of sale ??) showing the car's serial #. If this car was the 100000th MGA why would the serial number be #107989. I'm sure there is an explanation but no one at my end seems to know. Any ideas ?? <www.100000thmga.com>

MGA numbering started at 10101 and there were 2111 Twin Cam cars not included in the regularly numbered series. It works out correctly. At this point there were 97,889 non TC cars plus 2,111 TC cars.

It's wonderful that this car was saved! I'd just assumed it was in the BMHT museum. "When you assume..." However, the pimpmobile interpretation of the original carpeting is a little non sequitir.

Great car and still in first or second ownership! I hope we'll see also some pictures of the engine department. A really beautyful restauration but I agree with David, the owner should mow the carpet and than bring the car to some of the 50-years-MGA celebrations this year. Robert

Carpet!!! I thought that was Yetti fur! Otherwise, a beautiful restoration and what a treat it would be to own this car. C
