MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZS Service Costs
My wifes ZS has just become 12 months old and hence the first service was due. While I was expecting a cost of between £100 - £150 from our local MG Dealer (Where we purchased the car from new!), you could have knocked me down with a feather when the bill was presented at £240. This was basically for a check over, oil change and air and oil filter. How does this compare to other owners costs? While I realise that the dealership service history is required to maintain the three year warranty, this cost does seem very high. Your comments would be welcomed. Regards. Andy |

Yup, that's about what I've paid for each of the 3 services that my ZS180 has had. Ralph |

Threads like this has have appeard before, and in all of those I've never seen a service on a ZS charged at £240. The average is around the £150 mark for the first service, rising to around £200 subsequently. There does appear to be regional variations, mostly tied to the labour charge. Mechanics in the West Midlands must be well paid!! for me First service £150 Second service £180 (own oil supplied) Kelvin |

I just had my 30k done. was about £240ish. also had to pay out for a new back box as the baffles in the other one were rattling. they said it would be done under warranty but changed their mind stating that there was nothing physically wrong with the baffles, just that they rattled now and again - but the rattling was fecking loud! also had a 3rd of thetford forrest taken out blower system. total cost £348. the back box cost me £77. i have put in an in-formal complaint that they said the back box would be replaced under warranty then turned round and said i would have to pay for it. i would have said *ollocks - but the noise was embarrassing and fecked me off. I got the rear view mirror sorted under warranty as it buzzed constantly. Demon |

Demon, consider Crown Garage at Soham for your service requirements. They have just swapped to being a Honda franchise, but are stil an authorised MGR service centre!! They are friendy, helpful and cheaper!! I assume you went to Marshall of Cambridge? Kelvin |

All Thanks, the costs appear to be unfortunately familiar for other owners. I await with baited breath for the two year service cost!! Andy |

hi Kelvin yes i did go to Marshalls - convenient. I have been to the Soham garage, they do seem rather nice people. I will look into their service costs (do they provide courtesy cars?) One of the good things about Marshalls is the blonde receptionist - OH MY GOD!!!! but no doubt that is what she is there for - if you know what i mean. She is very down to earth, great face and very very very fit. calls you sweety and all that. sorry what was this thread about again...? ;op |

Not sure about Courtesy cars, they have done both my service visits while I have waited (early morning) so I just had a couple hours off work!! |

I shall definately give them a go. i thought marshalls would have been cheap as i have a marshalls card and get 10% discount. |
Demon |
10% discount after adding 20%!!! Crown Garage, both times, have given be a firm guide to the charges, and have stuck to them!! Kelvin |
