MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Autocar on the ZR
Autocar on the ZR 11/7/2001 "Step inside the ZR and you immediately discover the cars major flaw. The driving position is ridiculous, not unlike the MGFs, where anyone of even the modest bulk will find that the steering wheel is almost touching the tops of their thighs. There's little you can do about it by adjusting the steering column or seating position. First off the column has a very small arc of movement. Then there's the seats themselves. They need to be closer to the floor but can't be lowered any further owing to their design and a cross member on the floor that gets in the way. This is something that's going to be attended to when the Extreme versions of the ZR arrive next year. Instead of bulky standard seats they get sporty lightweight buckets that will cure the problem for good." |
