MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Which make of electronic ignition is this?

Does anyone recognise this electronic ignition? What make and model? Setup instructions?

No markings on it at all that I can see.

As for setup just ensure there is a gap between the unit and the ring (they dont seem sensitive to the exact gap).I just tried to make zure there was an even gap along the length of it and t hen check timing.

In the states we have the pertronix version

The big problem with the pertronix is the area where the red wire exits the chip block

As the breaker plate moves back and forth, it creates a back and forth hinging effect and at that enter section where the wire meets the chip the insulation breaks down and eventually shorts out...apperantly thats not an issue with the bbc simion chip...but it looks like it can in the photo.as its set up

Thanks all.

It's on my Consul Capri, and I have absolutely no desire at all to keep it. I prefer reliable and easily fixable points ignition. Queue, -- usual discussion about how unreliable points are lol. Whatever. ;).

Now I know what it is, I'll offer it for sale with my midget when I sell it. I might even fit it in advance, as a sweetner, to those who think it will add value to the Midget when they see it advertised -- "with electronic ignition" LOL.
