MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Stretching a canvas hood

Hi all,
Just spent a couple of days cleaning and recolouring the canvas/mohair hood on my midget. Used the Renovo stuff which seemed to work well. Only issue is that it seems to have shrunk the hood a tad. Anyone got any clever ideas about how to stretch it back?
(I know is probably should have recoloured it in situ but it was sunny outside and the car is sans cylinder head so couldn't move it outside.)
Cheers

Lay it flat on the concrete sidewalk / drive way in the sunnyist and hots part of the day for several hours, that will stretch it out in no time...work it while its hot

Canvas used to be made out of pure cotton, and would shrink a bit when wet. Modern materials are now acrylic and are slightly thermoplastic in nature e.g. will soften (to some degree) when heated. Follow Prop's advice or figure out another way to get it hot (not too hot).

Even when hot be careful of the seams when you stretch it and stretch it all the way across before putting the intermediate fixings in so its evenly tensioned. Less stretchiness on one side = tear if fixed in the middle first.
