MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Steering rack shiming

Hi,
I have fitted a new steering rack to my MK3 midget and now find that I should have fitted shims to align it correctly. Is this right and how do I do it?
It is the later rack.
Thanks
Dave

I'll leave the shimming to the experts saving confusing myself and you but if you have bought the new Argentinian rack that I have then it's not an exact copy of the original "Triumph" rack.

There is a shim/spacer which fits between the LH mounting bracket and the chassis rail.

Moss say it's NCA.

The shim is about 3/16" thick and would be easy to make. There are also shims at the top of the steering column between the bracket that locates it to the bulkhead.

I only undid the semi circular bracket/clamp and swapped the racks. So any spacer that is between the mounting bracket and the chassis rail is still there. So I think I am ok.
