MG Midget and Sprite Technical - starter switch

Hello,

Does anyone know the a key starter switch with 4 plugs:
all around: BAT, IGN and AAC
at the center: ST
There is no more indication on the starte switch.

I have change my wire loom with a new one for midget MKI with alternator conversion.
I have 4 wires:
- brown/blue connected to the brown wire from the + of the solenode
- white from fuel pump
- white/red from solenode
- two white together

I have tried different pluggin but with no succes.
When I plug the brown/blue to ST, car starts but impossible to stop the engine without removing the wire between the coil and the distributor.

If you have an idea, please tell me, cause I don not find the right position for each wire.

brown/blue sounds like it ought to be the feed to the headlamp switch, but as it comes from the solenoid, you can connect it to BAT

white/red should go to ST

The white wires should go to IGN

ACC is the position for accessories such as a radio.

Dave,
I will try tomorrow.
I have tested with ohmeter the brown/blue.
There is a 1ohm resistance between the brown/blue from the starter switch and the brown wire from the solenoïd.
At the eterior of the wireloom, one brown wire is connected to 2 brown/blue wires. It seems to be a connection cause of the removal of the regulator (when fitted with dynamo).

Well we are progressing,

first step of the key: the fuel pump runs. BUT no light in the ignition lamp.

second step of the key, the engine fire and runs well at 600-700 rpm.
tension at the battery: 13.30V (so alternator charges the battery)

BUT, impossible to stop the engine whey I turn back the key.
I have to unplug the coil.

any idea?

one idea:
if the engine continues to fire when the key is off, it seems electricity still arrives to the positive of the coil from the white wire.
This white wire is directly connected to the fuse box. when tested with ohmeter, this wire has no other connection. It is a simple wire with two ends.
Perhaps this wire is not pluged at the right place?
It should be connected to the starter switch to cut the electricity to the coil when the key is off.

What do you think about this?

One of the white wires from the starter switch should go to the fuse box to provide power to the 'green' circuit.

Connect your white coil wire to the same terminal as the other white at the fusebox.

I'm assuming that you have two fuses in the fusebox, rather than four? If so, one fuse is permanently 'hot' and the other is hot when the ignition is on.
Dave O'Neill 2

Two fuses.
Connections were previously done like this with the white wire from the coil. So pb des not come from there.

one fuse with white and green circuit
one fuse with brown and purple.

Well, in fact the right plugs are:

ST: white red
AAC: fuel pump
BAT: white
IGN: brown

thanks Dave.
