MG Midget and Sprite Technical - spots

hi all,
if i want to fit 2 spot lights to my 65 to work on main beam only (and flash) would i need a relay and what would be the best way to wire them up.
thanks bob.

Yes Bob you will definitely need a relay for the spots. As to wiring the supply to the secondary side of the relay needs to come from the battery via an inline fuse. The primary side of the relay should come from the High beam headlight supply, via another fuse and a switch on the dash.

BTW if you don't have headlight relays already I thoroughly reccommend them.

FWIW
Why not fit the relay to supply the Hi beams and the driving lights?
Thereby improving them and simplifying the wiring. Also reduces the load on the switch and extending its life etc....

PS why not fit a circuit breaker instead of a fuse and fit fused a relay see pic
PPS do the low beam as well
