MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Slow clutch

Hi Im back for another question please . Took the midget out today for a road test , its been pretty much off the road for any significant mileage for 25 yrs . The clutch seems slow to pick up difficult to tell when driving if its the pedal coming up slowly or something else . Stationary it doesnt seem to slow in coming up . Its means between gear changes Im over revving as when I go back on the throttle the clutch hasnt quite engaged. Where would be a good place to start looking. The fluid probably needs changing could that be it ? Its a MK 11 with a 1275 in with shared master cylinder . Clutch feels quite heavy, return springs seem ok . They have been replaced . Thanks

Is the vent hole in the master cylinder cap blocked perhaps? Or if it's one of the caps with a rubber seal inside the lid has that swollen with fluid so it's blocking?

Other than that, it could be seized or overly stiff pivots. Check especially the pedal pivot in the footwell. Or I suppose it could be accumulated dirt on the gearbox input shaft splines.

Also, if it's been sitting that long maybe the rubber flex hose to the clutch slave cylinder has swollen internally and blocking the fluid flow
