MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Sebring Sprite vs Std headroom

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the Sebring replicas have more / less or the same headroom as a std Spridet?

Cheers

Just before you get replies saying the standard Spridget has the headroom of a million miles of sky ...

it depends which hardtop you're comparing it to.

Against the Healey 'Warwick' (MkII) hardtop which is on my midget at the moment, there's a couple more inches in the replica Sebring I'm building, using the same seat at approximately the same angle. That is on a par with the height of a BMC works (frogeye) hardtop, which I think has about as much headroom as you can get on the standard sidescreen car.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking the time to reply

Yes, my question was pretty vague as I didn't say a Sebring compared to a hardtop / softtop / what Mk?.

The side screen cars do look as though they have much less headroom than the windup window cars - is that fact or is that just how they look.

I guess a call to Andrew at Archers wouldn't go amis

Cheers

There is little difference in the headroom (with standard frogeye seats in both)between my frogeye and my Sebring rep. I am 6'02" and fit / have both but with little space between top of head and hardtop / hood.

Is Martins Sebring bigger than mine? Not last time I saw him.

What's your problem Alan? Is no one else entilted to contribute to this thread apart from you?

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. Oh Lord please don't let me be mis-understood!

No probs. I guess I was just feeling a bit sensitive! I'm old enough to know better. Apologies.

Thanks for all your feedback guys!
