MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Rear lower wings

Hi there,
progressing well with the restoration of our midget (might even make Midget50!) but got a question about where the rear wing joins the rear valance. Ours is a 1500 but given we had to replace the whole left wing, the rear valance and the lower right quarter wing, decided to do the full conversion and add in the sections below the lights. I'm OK with the top of the wings but the section under the lights has me a bit stumped. Question is, where the valance and wing meet, is there supposed to be beading like on the top or is it just a crease or smooth? Hopefully the question makes sense!
Thanks!

Smooth

I'm hoping that Midget50 will give me a break long enough to make sure that mine is on the road too ...!

Wow, quick repsonse, thanks Rach!
And, even better, the best response out of the 3 options - stitch weld and filler skim and ready for paint. probably.

Things hotting up on the organisation front are they? got our road-trip down planned now, just need to get the car finished! But big steps forward at the weekend - finally got the full wing to fit & the welding started.

You're welcome.

Hmmmm - ish! Got fantastic prizes for the competitions, and traders are booking, but I'm procrastinating at the moment from writing out the minutes - and getting used to the whole not having to rush everything done during the day .... hate it when the evenings change for awhile!
rachmacb

it is not supposed to be smooth between the fender and the rear valence!

there is no beading in the joint down there, but the radiused seam is visible, on a factory car (and just the end bit, where it meets the tail lamp hole, is filled / finished)

you can just see the line in the lower right of this photo

Here's some pictures of a 1500 .... - not mine I hasten to add - or my little bit of welding would be even huger than it really is!

And another view - albeit with the bumper in the way, so doesn't show anything!

Ah, should have been clearer, our rear is now going to be like a de-bumpered 1275, so Norm's picture shows it correctly. We'd already lost the rubber bumpers so when it came to replacing a complete wing and rear valance it seemed like a good idea to just use the 1275 style items while we were at it. Hence why I don't know what it looks like.
Thanks guys!

Rach,
That first photo of yours is somewhat of a mystery photo.
What exactly is it! LOL!
